-
- What this software does
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-
- This application is a very simple 3D function (surface)
- plotter. It takes as input a text file containing the x, y,
- and z data for a function of the form z=f(x,y), and draws a
- 3D view of the function. This version is very dumb and does
- not allow any choice in how the graph is displayed. Better
- things will emerge in the course of time, I hope.
-
- Use !3DFnEdit to produce data files of BASIC type functions
- in the correct format for !Surface to understand.
-
- If !3DFnEdit and !Surface are active at the same time, then
- the data files can be passed back and forwards
- "transparently" as far as the user is concerned, the Wimp
- message system doing all the work.
-
- Running !Surface
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-
- Double clicking on the !Surface icon in a directory viewer
- will install its icon on the icon bar. A data file
- (originally produced by !3DFnEdit) can be loaded by drag and
- drop. The display window will open when the data is loaded.
- Data can also be passed in directly from !3DFnEdit. Any new
- data file will overwrite the surface being displayed.
-
- Full interactive help is available, via !Help or
- !BubbleHelp.
